Acknowledgements

In scientific publishing, correct attribution of work performed serves two functions. It credits the individuals and institutions involved in the project, but it also provides information for the public. Non-credited work is authorised under Swiss copyright law but is not compatible with the principles of scientific integrity and open science. As such, any project where the IBU has been involved needs to include it, at a minimum, in the acknowledgements. Frequently, these projects are the ones using results from our Service Mode. Other examples include projects where we contribute to specific small statistical analyses or experimental designs.

Example sentence for acknowledgements: The Interfaculty Bioinformatics Unit (IBU), University of Bern provided computational infrastructure and support with bioinformatic analyses.
