During my PhD, I studied the evolution of alternative splicing patterns and regulatory mechanisms in tetrapods based on an extensive RNA-sequencing dataset comprising 11 species and 8 different tissues. My main project as a postdoc is to investigate the molecular basis of the process of forgetting in Drosophila melanogaster. The learning mechanism of Drosophila has been extensively studied, however we lack information about the systems biology of forgetting. I am working with RNA-sequencing data generated after conditioning experiments on Drosophila. This project (SynaptiX) is a research, technology and development project supported by SystemsX.
